Elise Thorner, a junior at New Mexico representing England, won the women's invitational 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:39.39 at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University in California. It marked the second year in a row that Thorner prevailed at Bryan Clay after clocking 9:40.98 last year.
