Elise Thorner and Adva Cohen of New Mexico finished fifth and eighth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Thorner, representing England, clocked 9:33.99 and Cohen ran a personal-best 9:35.60 to improve on her own Israeli national record. Thorner and Cohen helped New Mexico become the fourth school in Division 1 championship history to have teammates earn All-America first-team honors in the 3,000 steeplechase in multiple years, including Charlotte Prouse and Cohen in 2019.
